Call for Award Nominations

Please consider nominating your colleagues for the RP2024 Distinguished Lectures and Division 22 Awards, to be presented at the 26th Annual Rehabilitation Psychology Conference February 22-25, 2024. Self-nominations are permitted.

Distinguished Lectures are scheduled as plenary sessions for attendees to honor and learn from prominent rehabilitation psychology professionals. Awardees deliver a 50-minute oral presentation (40-minute presentation, plus 10-minute Q&A). Awardees receive an honorary plaque, speaker honorarium, and complimentary conference registration. Distinguished Lectures will take place Friday (2/23) and Saturday (2/24) to maximize visibility and attendance.

Division 22 Awards are annual awards presented during designated awards sessions. Awardees receive an honorary plaque. Award sessions will take place Friday (2/23) and Saturday (2/24) to maximize visibility and attendance.

Unless otherwise specified, the nominator for each award will be asked present the award in-person during RP2024. Nominators who cannot attend or present will be asked to identify someone who can present the award and speak to the awardees’ accomplishments.

Beatrice Wright and Tamara Dembo Award Lecture on Psychosocial Aspects of Rehabilitation

  • The Dembo-Wright Lecture honors a rehabilitation psychologist whose work reflects Dr. Tamara Dembo’s and Dr. Beatrice Wright’s landmark contributions to the psychosocial aspects of rehabilitation psychology.

Leonard Diller Award Lecture

  • The Diller Lecture is awarded to a rehabilitation psychologist whose significant contributions and notable achievements in neurorehabilitation reflect the legacy of Dr. Leonard Diller.

Ethics Award Lecture

  • The Ethics Award Lecture is awarded to a rehabilitation psychologist whose presentation centers on ethical principles and standards as they apply to rehabilitation psychology.

Lifetime Achievement Award

  • Recognizes a rehabilitation psychologist who has made outstanding lifelong contributions in their lifetime of work in the areas of practice, science, public interest, and/or education and training that advances Rehabilitation Psychology as a science or a profession.

Lifetime Practice Excellence Award

  • Recognizes a rehabilitation psychologist who has made distinguished lifelong contributions to Rehabilitation Psychology through excellence in the clinical practice, in training others for clinical practice, and/or in setting clinical practice policy.

Barry Nierenberg Lifetime Education Award

  • Recognizes a rehabilitation psychologist who devotes a significant portion of their effort to education in the foundations of rehabilitation psychology, including teaching undergraduate/graduate students and training psychology other health care professionals.

Roger G. Barker Distinguished Research Contribution Award

Mentoring Award

  • Recognizes a rehabilitation psychologist who has displayed excellence in mentoring trainees or junior faculty through their professional generosity promoting professional and personal growth, as well as education, training, and leadership in Rehabilitation Psychology.

Citizen Psychologist Award for Advancing Disability as a Human Rights and Social Justice Issue
